Blepharoplasty Tunisia : Eyelid surgery Tunisia
Beautiful eyes are the key to the face. Having smooth, full and fresh eyes gives the appearance of youth and vitality. At Clinique El Yosr Internationale in Sousse, Tunisia, we believe in achieving this goal through eyelid rejuvenation surgery, or "blepharoplasty"
Blepharoplasty Tunisia or eyelid surgery is a cosmetic and plastic surgery operation aimed at improving the appearance of the eyes. Blepharoplasty refreshes the eyes, removing sagging skin, pockets of fat, and tightening the muscles around the eye, making your eyes look fresher, less tired, or angry.
Signs of aging around the eyes are a common concern and usually first appear around the age of 30. There are many factors that cause aging around the eyes such as genetics, sun exposure, and lifestyle factors.
What is blepharoplasty?
There are two types of eyelid surgery which are performed together for total eye rejuvenation, or separately if there is only one problem:
- Upper eyelid surgery: Corrects heavy upper eyelids, sagging skin covering the upper part of the eyelashes, and eliminates pockets of fat.
- Lower eyelid surgery: Eliminates fat deposits and sagging skin under the eyes that makes the person look tired or old.
Eyelid surgery is often combined with other facial surgeries, such as a facelift, to achieve more spectacular facial rejuvenation. These various options can be discussed in a consultation with our experienced plastic surgeon, to help you achieve the results you desire.
How can blepharoplasty help me?
Blepharoplasty rejuvenates the appearance of the eye area. The extent of improvement will vary depending on whether an upper, lower, or combined blepharoplasty occurs. The benefits of blepharoplasty include:
- Improved vision where sagging skin covering the skin impairs vision.
- Improves the appearance of the eye area, reducing the "tired" appearance.
- Reduction of wrinkles around the eye area.
- Improved self-confidence.
Upper eyelid surgery
An incision is made to remove the falling skin. The excess fat is also eliminated. Fine stitches are used to close the incision.
Lower eyelid surgery
where excess fat is the only problem. An incision is made inside the lower eyelid, leaving no scar
where there is excess fat and skin. The incision is made along the eyelashes of the lower eyelid, the muscles and skin of the lower eyelid are tightened. The excess skin and fat is eliminated. Scars are minimal.
Do I need to be hospitalized for blepharoplasty?
Upper eyelid surgery is “day surgery” and takes about an hour. You will be able to return home a few hours after your procedure.
The surgery of the lower eyelids may require an overnight stay at the El Yosr International Clinic in Sousse, Tunisia. All of our surgeries are performed in fully accredited facilities ensuring your safety.
After the surgery
Advances in anesthesia over the past few years mean that you should have minimal side effects and pain. Our highly qualified anesthetists are experienced in modern techniques and are dedicated to your comfort.
Immediately after your operation, you will be seated and your eyes will be covered with cold compresses, to reduce bruising and swelling.
If external incisions are made, fine stitches are used to close them. These are removed approximately 5 days after surgery. If the trans-conjunctival approach is used, there are no points to remove.
The eyelids have a lubricating and protective role for your eyes. After surgery while the eyelids are swollen, this function is compromised and therefore for a few weeks you will need to lubricate your eyes regularly with ointment or drops.
Results of my blepharoplasty
Bruising and swelling vary from person to person, peaking in the first three days and usually resolving within seven to fourteen days.
The scars will gradually fade over time.
The first results of a blapharoplasty are visible immediately after the end of the surgery. The eyes appear fresher and the person is visibly younger by ten years.
The final result is exceptional after 6 months, when the scars will have completely faded and will no longer be visible, the eyes then become radiant and radiant
When can I resume daily activities?
You should feel ready to resume your normal routine after a week. However, you must follow all postoperative instructions until all healing has taken place.
Although at El Yosr International Clinic the hygiene and safety conditions are very strict and our plastic surgeons are highly qualified and experienced, each surgery carries (minimal) risks and can potentially lead to rare but possible complications.
blepharoplasty is no exception to this rule. Our surgeons discuss with the patient during the consultation before surgery the main risks and the methods of their treatment if necessary.
